“Very dated room with gross shag carpet…and to top it off my husband had a huge roach in the shower the morning we left…we understand critters are somewhat uncontrollable things but just topped off our feeling of how old and dirty the room was….especially for the price. Only upside was hotel amenities. Checkin/out and everything on property besides the room was satisfactory.”

“I was only here for overnight but the location is great, spacious and clean room. Great shower, comfy bedding and the AC works really well. I will stay here again!”

“The breakfast had a lot to be desired. The bacon was really greasy. The flat eggs were cold. The staff were very friendly & polite. The room was clean. But toilet had an issue with flushing. The fan ran all the time whether switch was on or not. And sink’s drain you pull up to let the water drain out was broken. So you had to manually pull up the plug to let the water out!”

“There are two primary reasons I rated this property 3 out of 5 stars. The room and facilities were very nice. However, this is a Springhill Suites, not a Motel 6. I did not expect to hear my neighbors walking on the floor above me, nor did I expect to hear them using the bathroom. This is not what I expect from a well-respected, higher-end chain like Springhill Suites. The other reason I am not completely happy is the parking fees. I knew about the $15/day parking when I reserved the room, but……

“Our room was next to the breakfast prep area and every morning there was an inordinate amount of noise from 6am on. Our AC was making a terrible vibrating noise. We informed the staff of both of these concerns and nothing was done to remedy them. We have stayed in this Hampton Inn many times in the past and never had these kinds of problems. Very disappointing.”

“The beach view was is the distance with several buildings partially obstructing the view. Fresh towels, paper cups and waste baskets emptied each day- bed linens every 3rd day. Breakfast was limited buffet, repetitive hot choices, pancake machine difficult to operate. The breakfast room itself was very nice and comfortable with different seating choices. ”

“Being an old schoolhouse definitely made it unique. The room was small but didn't feel like it. The view over the courtyard was peaceful and the live music in the evenings was nice way to end the day. If you want quiet before 9 pm then I would look elsewhere but we thought it made for a nice evening. The location was perfect and within easy walking distance to everything in the historic district which was a huge plus to not have to deal with finding or paying for parking. The room and whole……

“Stayed at Hoyt House in early April. Weather was lousy. Everything else was great. Location is within easy walking distance of restaurants and stores of Fernandino Beach. Everything in the Inn was in top shape, and a lot of thought clearly went into making the guests comfortable. Umbrellas when it rained. A glass of wine in the afternoon. Plenty of places to sit witha book or other activity. ”
